Services |
| Who: |
For adults with
disabilities which create barriers to employment but who desire
to be employed in the community (Disabilities include: traumatic
brain injury, developmental disability, chronic mental illness,
blindness, deafness, and many other physical or mental
impairments. |
| Services: |
Services that assist an
individual with disability to obtain and keep a job in the
community at competitive wages; customers may choose from among
the following: |
- Community-based Assessment
- Short term job tryouts or observation at community
business
- Skill Development
- Job placement in a job at
competitive wages
- Job coaching and follow-up
to assist employee with employee training, assimilation into
the workplace, work colleague relationship, and job
retention

When the business needs an
employees: days, evenings, or weekends may be involved |
| Where: |
Businesses throughout a multi-county area,
including Black Hawk and surrounding counties. |
| How: |
Funding sources include: the Iowa Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
Services, Iowa Department for the Blind, Country boards of Supervisors, Home and
Community Based Services (through the Dept. of Human Services), individual's or
family's own funds, or other sources ( ask at time of application). To
